17th April '09 - New Season Begins, Availability and Pool
The new season at MCC starts this weekend with a friendly game vs Leith FAB, at Leith Links on Sat 18th April. The team has been announced for this game and can be found here or on the forums page. It is passworded, but the password is the same as the contact page password.
If you have not been selected for this game, please do not be down heartened. This team is predominantly a 1st XI team in preparation for the first league game of the season next week vs Grange and the Cow Corner Finals Day.
Please can all players please confirm their availability for the coming weeks asap. This includes the two league games on 2nd May.
Finally, the Annual (ish) Marchmont CC Pool night will be this Sunday at the Angle Club in Morningside. Please meet at the venue at 7.30pm for an 8pm start. This will be a good chance for new members to get involved with the club and get to know some of the old guard.

9th Mar '09 - Commitee Meeting
The first commitee meeting of the season was held this evening. This meeting was scheduled to tie up a few loose ends from the agm and ironing out some new issues for the coming season.
Subs
The first item was to do with player subscriptions for the 2009 season. It was agreed that the subscriptions for 2009 should be kept at 2008 rates. For these rates, please see the Subcriptions page.
The only modification to the subs that will be introduced for the 2009 season will be a 'Portioned Subscription'. This will be introduced for those players who are new to the club and who feel they may only play limited games in the season. No existing member shall qualify for this. A player will only require to initially pay half the due subscription, to a minimum of £15. Once a player has contributed/played in a specified number of games (this is at the Captain/Commitee's discretion), the player in question will be expected to contribute the remainder of the subscription to become a full member.

Please note that there are still outstanding subs from the 2008 season. These are due immediately.
Awards
The remainder of the awards from last season have been agreed. These are as follows:

Sponsorship and Kit
We are finalising a number of items of sponsorship for the coming season, which we hope to announce soon. As part of this, we will be ordering new club shirts. Full club members will have first entitlement to the shirts and at a subsidised cost. Please note that it is expected that all 1st XI players and long-serving 2nd XI players should be setting the standard by wearing a Marchmont shirt for every game.
An email will be sent round shortly to advise further, but we will be requiring a notification of interest from all members.
Club Equipment
We are currently trying to pull together club equipment, predominantly for use by the 2nd XI. We are investigating what ki we have and replacing the old, delapidated kit. If any player has any kit they no longer require, that is still in good condition and they wish to donate it to the club, please can you let Aaron, Alan R or Neil know.
Pre-season Social
The two Mikes will be organising a pre-season event or two for April. More details will be confirmed shortly, but it likely that this will involve a meal and a pool/snooker event. More to follow - Keep an eye on here: Social
Fixtures Change
Please note the two fixture changes on the list. This affects the 1st XI game vs Grange away (now 25th April) and the 2nd XI game vs West Lothian away (now SUNDAY 12th July). Confirmation is here: Fixtures
Next Commitee Meeting
The next commitee meeting will take place on Monday 6th April (on the assumption that I am correct in thinking that that is not Easter Monday...). If any members wish to raise anything at this meeting, please contact a member of the commitee.
