28th Sep 08: MCC Quiz Night
Mike has organised a Marchmont CC pub quiz for Sunday 2nd November, 7pm for a 7.30pm start at the Golf Tavern. All players, friends, families, work clleagues, etc encouraged! The more the merrier...All MCC members to bring a prize for main event and raffle.
The last one held was a huge success and raised a good amount of money for the club. A repeat performance would be great.
Also note that the new discount cards for the Golf will also be available to all members on the night.

7th Sep 08: Marchmont 1st XI Win Div 2 Fair Play Award
A quick note to say congrats to all at Marchmont CC, as the 1st XI took the ESCA Div 2, fair play award. As a club, we should be very pleased that we have been voted most fair club. It is a great achievement and my thanks go out to all those who played this year (25 players in total contributed to the first XI) and maintained the high standard and reputation of Marchmont CC.
Let's keep this up for next year.
23rd Aug 08: Season Splutters Out
The 2008 season staggered to a close, with the rain once again having the final say. Both games were rained of by Friday night and the Cow Corner Finals Day has already been cancelled too. A seriously disappoining end to what could have been a good season.
The final outcome is 4th place for the firsts, not far off promotion. The seconds were relegated, finishing bottom, but with a few positives to take forward to div 7 where they should bounce straight back from. The club also finished in two semi finals (one still to be played), two quarter finals and a general decent showing.
We do need to build on this for next year and hopefully we can. We must be positive in recruitment to replace any players leaving us, but more importantly, we must retain as many of the existing players as possible.
18th Aug 08: Cow Corner Training
There will be an indoor net this week in preparation for the CC20|20 finals day on Sunday - likely to be TUESDAY (19th Aug) 7pm til 9pm. All members of the CC20|20 squad should attend unless there is a good reason for not doing so. Other players are welcome.
Date, time and location TBC. This will be posted on the Forum.

17th Aug 08: President's XI
The annual President's game was held at Cavalry Park today. A great, very close, game and a great tea, were thoroughly enjoyed by all.
Nice to see a lot of faces come up to the ground, including club members who weren't playing. Thanks to everyone who supported the day.

A quick note of congratulations to Simon Marr (and family) after becoming a Dad for the first time. "Future England Captain" Alex Martin Marr was born 4th Aug and weighed in at 9lb 4oz. Congratulations from all at Marchmont
16th Aug 08: Firsts off, as Seconds Lose on Last Ball
With Falkland and most of Fife underwater, only the seconds game survived. They played host to Stirling III, who they had played well against the first time through in Stirling. This time it was even closer, coming down to the final ball of the game. Stirling scraped home. More to follow...
