The MPL (Marchmont Premier League) was new for 2011. This event was predominantly a fundraiser for MCC, but provided the club with a lot of banter.
24 players put themselves at the mercy of the MCC auction, where 4 managers bid for the right to have them plaing for their 6-a-side team on Sunday 29th May at Cavalry Park. This page will keep track of the progress of the event, from the initial advert, to the auction and results on the day.

MPL Advert
Auction Results - 13th May 2011
The MPL auction took place at the Golf Tavern on 13th May. The 4 teams, headed by club 'celebrities' (Bashir, Mahendra, Corner and Shelagh and Sara) took place and the results can be seen below, along with the powerpoint used on the night.
The bidding was frantic and with Bashir bidding on everyone going and Mahendra spending his money early on family loyalty, the early bids were high, which left some of the later players in the auction (particularly Aaron and Euan - considered bargains on the night) going for a small price as there as limited money left.
Pre-auction favourite to take highest bid, Matt, was actually outbid by Will Collier.
A great night was had by all. Bring on the 29th May.
